GS STUDIOS KARAOKE KONPA INFORMATION

Hey everyone,

PLEASE RSVP w/ me by TOMORROW afternoon (send me an e-mail or call me
256-9417) so I know how many people will be coming. Since groups of 4
people or more get priority it would be good to know that at least four
people are coming.

Sorry for the late e-mail. Finals have been a torrent of woe. Anyways,
we decided that the konpa would be on Saturday (the 20th) at GS studios
in Waikiki. It will be from 4 Pm to 8 Pm.

I called them and they said that they run an early bird special
everyday of the week that is from 12 AM to 8 PM at night all for only a
flat rate of $10 per person. So basically you can sing for 8 hours
straight for only $10 bucks. Amazing huh? Since most of you probably
don't want to sing that long I thought maybe 4 hours was reasonable. It
sounds like a long time but it goes by very fast. Especially when
you're drunk.

You CANNOT bring your own drinks. They do allow outside food however so
bring something! It'll be like an informal potluck. Of course you can
always order food from GS since they have a restaurant attached. The
food is slightly expensive but it's actually not bad tasting. As for
the alcohol it IS expensive depending on what you get. Mixed drinks can
run anywhere for $6-12 dollars.

There are English songs. GS has the most up-to-date and extensive
Japanese song list out of any Hawaii karaoke place and a somewhat
up-to-date English song list (Natasha Bettingfield, Avril Lavigne,
Alisha Keys, Timbaland, etc.)

Okay, finding parking might be a problem. I'm not too informed about
where best to park in Waikiki from 4 AM to 8 PM. There is a small
parking lot next to GS that is not bad (as for as cost goes). I'm not
too sure if the parking at the Galleria is still a flat rate after 5PM
but I think it's like $8 or something. If anyone knows something better
please let everyone else know.

Don't be shy, please come. It'll be our last time as a class and our
last chance to see Nakade sensei so... ONEGAI!!! For those who can't
sing it really doesn't matter. The point of karaoke is to enjoy singing
your favorite song regardless of how terrible it may be. You can think
of it as practice for American idol. For those who can sing well,
please don't be intimidated in not coming either. It's always cool to
hear people who can sing well.

Again, PLEASE RSVP w/ me by TOMORROW afternoon (send me an e-mail or
call me 256-9417) so I know how many people will be coming.
